Keeping Your Collection Manageable

There are lots of collectors out there but some turn into hoarders. It’s one thing to collect items you’re passionate about but if you’ve seen the show (“Hoarders” on your www.satellitetv-hq.com channels) you know how real this problem can be. Here’s some tips on avoiding this extreme:
Only pick the good stuff: Don’t spend weekend after weekend collecting items – it’s fine to make a hobby out of collecting but you’ve got to know when to stop. Just remember you don’t have to buy something at every garage sale or every store.
Display your collection: If you’re a collector you’re doing it because you like your things – display them proudly! If you find you don’t have enough space to show off all your possessions you should pare down a bit to risk overcluttering.
Be specific about your collection: The wider your collection range becomes the more items you’re going to get – that means you will just get more and more stuff. Save your buys for when you find the perfect fit for your narrowly defined collection and avoid getting too many of any one thing.
